About us
Jack and Jills is a fully inclusive Preschool that has a genuine love for all children.  Here, we are dedicated to supporting your family in your child's first step into education.  We are open Monday to Friday 9.15-3pm.  Please contact us for prices (we do not charge extras on top of funded places).  We offer half days or full days; we accept 2 year offer funding for low income families, 30hr Working Family Funding and 15hrs funding for 3 years plus. We take children from 18mths old.  We provide a safe and nurturing environment for all children, where they feel safe and confident to learn and grow as a whole.  We teach children to be mindful and resilient.  Children (and staff) also learn to balance their emotions and be happy and healthy through breathing, mediation and yoga; including Wellness Wednesday.  Wellness Wednesday takes place outside, where we learn more about the outdoors through Forest School activities.
We also carry out daily Attention Autism sessions, Sensory Circuits and Movement breaks, we follow the Curiosity Programme carrying out Intensive Interaction; striving to meet the needs of all of our learners, wherever their starting points are.  We use daily visuals to support transitions, Now and Next Boards, Visual timetables and 1-2-1 activities to develop learning and focus on the teacher.  We work closely with local agencies and the Council, such as Bexley Early Autism Service, Private speech and language therapists and Play Therapists.

Learning

We offer open-flow play, with daily access to the garden in all weather (please provide wet suits and welly boots).  At Preschool, children learn to develop independence and confidence, through 'In The Moment Planning'; where children self select what activities to do and what they wish to play with.  Staff work hard to engage, inspire and play with your children, supporting their learning further in everything they do.   Everything is based around the children's interest, so engagement is kept to the maximum.  We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage - meaning we follow the same curriculum as  Primary Schools.  We are constantly observing and assessing, ready to notice that teachable moment, where we can gently step in and guide your child's learning further and develop those thinking skills.  We maintain close, family friendly relationships with our parents, who can give us a bell at any time and come in for a chat.  Remember we are here for you too!!

Meet our teachers

Our teachers are not just teachers, we are also a family.  We always stride to provide the best care and education for your children.  As a result, we have a highly qualified team - Our Manager and Deputy are both qualified Primary School Teachers, we have 3 Early Talk Boost Teachers, a Forest School Teacher, a qualified SENCO and a Maths Champion, among other qualifications.  All staff have Paediatric First Aid and Food Hygiene qualifications.

At Preschool, we aim to give children the skills to be strong and resilient.  We also teach yoga, breathing and meditation.  Our staff are absolutely lovely, and always ready for a big hug.

Our teachers not only strive to meet the needs of your children, but the whole family - we will help with advice wherever possible and will support you through an EHCP process if your child needs this.  We offer home visits where needed and strive to support you fully during the transition process starting school.

Our staff work closely with outside agencies, working with Private Speech and Language Therapists alongside your child in the setting and visiting the home to observe play therapists to ensure we are all supporting your child to achieve to same goals.

Our Curriculum

We offer a rich Curriculum that we adapt to meet your child's needs.  We offer ICAN Early talk Boost Sessions to support children's language skills, yoga and meditation, the Core Word curriculum (built for Gestalt language processors- but benefitting all), Spanish lessons, Forest School activities, Attention Autism sessions, the Curiosity Programme and 1-2-1s to develop learning attention and independence.  We also sat times have a Sports Coach that comes in to work with the children.  All is covered in your Preschool fees, with no hidden extras.  Our Registration fee of £55 includes a Sweatshirt, t shirt and Preschool bag to set your child off with their very own Preschool Uniform.
